Letโs turn that dream into a reality timeline:
โ Month 1: The Coffee Catalyst
Start by mastering your coffee game. Itโs not just about caffeine; it's about building relationships. Be the hero who knows every team memberโs coffee order by heart.
๐ป Month 2: Marathon Coding Sessions
Code like thereโs no tomorrow. But here's the twist: for every bug you fix, introduce a new feature. Itโs about showing adaptability and growth.
๐ Month 3: Network Like a Prodigy
Connect genuinely with one new person daily. Forget the shotgun approach on LinkedIn; itโs about quality, not quantity. Aim for meaningful conversations.
๐ Month 4: Embrace the Buzzwords
Use buzzwords, but wisely. Understand what blockchain, AI, and machine learning actually mean and how they can be applied to your projects.
๐ Month 5: Dress the Part
Upgrade your wardrobe to reflect your ambition. Dressing well shows youโre serious about your role and ready for that next step.
๐
Month 6: Master the Meetings
Learn the art of effective meetings. Propose clear agendas, keep discussions on track, and always follow up. Meetings should be productive, not time sinks.
๐ Month 7: Innovate and Automate
Start a side project that solves a real problem in your team or company. Automate a tedious task. Show initiative and innovation.
๐ฃ Month 8: Develop Leadership Skills
Take the lead on a project. Show that you can inspire and guide a team towards a common goal. Leadership is about influence, not authority.
๐ธ Month 9: Financial Acumen
Understand the business side of things. How does what you do impact the bottom line? A good CTO understands both technology and business.
๐ฅ Month 10: Delegate Wisely
Learn to delegate effectively. Itโs about trusting your team and focusing on strategic tasks. Empower others to grow their skills.
๐ฎ Month 11: Cultivate a Vision
Start thinking about the future. What technologies or trends will impact your industry? How can your company stay ahead? Be a visionary.
๐ Month 12: The Humble Leader
Reflect on your growth and share the credit. Leadership is about lifting others as you climb. Show gratitude and humility.
๐ป๐ถ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐๐ ๐๐พ๐ ๐น๐๐๐'๐ ๐๐ถ๐!!!
Remember, folks, the journey to the top might be filled with laughter, spilled coffee, and one too many buzzwords, but with this totally serious and foolproof plan, how can you not succeed?

Become CTO in a matter of hrs. Just go start a company with a friend or two and give yourself the CTO title. You don't need a whole year lol
I was the CTO and my friend was the CEO but it didn't work so well! Someone had to write the code and find new customers ๐คฃ
๐คฃ I think that is a valuable lesson. You realized what was more important for success which was your customer happiness and product. Being able to work with people who don't obsess over titles is something I find to work with me. I'm more customers and product obsessed which I think are the keys to success in business.
Take a job.. hire engineers... Become cto
I wish I read this post 10 years before. I would have been a CTO with 9 years of experience by now. ๐
It's never too late!
