Starting from July ,when I first came to know about Hacktoberfest,I was quite excited to participate in it.In the due course of time I came across the Open Source Hacks organised by Anitab.org . There I got a chance to get more familiar with the git concepts and came in contact with some amazing mentors (which i have learned but never applied in a Real case scenario working with any organization)
This helped me a lot to get familiar with the project's actual production code base.That (OSH) event was going to end on 30th of September and Hacktoberfest was going to start from 1st of October. As I was familiar with that projects code base I decided to get started by Contributing towards Mentorship-Android .
Later, explored issues marked with hacktoberfest resolved couple of those in the September.As I completed with my commits , I eagerly started waiting for 1st of October.
At 12:00 am,Oct 1st, I send my first PR to Anitab-org Mentorship-android that was basically solving a xml bug which occured on the login screen of the app background. The count on Hacktoberfest profile turned 1! I can't wait further I made the other 4 pull requests and filled the bar!!!!!
Looking forward to contribute as much as I can during the fest!
Even if you are new to git , Github , Open Source platform give it a try its a great platform to get started in OSS
