The 2025 New Year Writing Challenge provides a distinguished platform for individuals to introspect on the past year, strategize for the upcoming one, and forecast the evolving trends within the tech industry. This challenge, running from January 1 to February 2, 2025, invites participants to engage with three pivotal prompts:
Retro’ing and Debugging 2024 – An in-depth reflection on the lessons acquired, obstacles encountered, and milestones achieved throughout 2024. Share your insights on how the past year has catalyzed both personal and professional development.
Compiling 2025 – A comprehensive outline of your strategic roadmap for 2025. Articulate your goals, aspirations, and plans for advancing your skills, completing key projects, or leveraging growth opportunities in the forthcoming year.
Predicting 2025 – An anticipatory analysis of the trends, technologies, and innovations that are poised to dominate the tech industry in 2025. Will AI continue its ascendancy, or will new breakthroughs disrupt the current landscape?
Participation Guidelines
- This challenge is open to participants aged 18+.
- Entrants may submit to multiple prompts, with a single submission eligible for consideration across various categories if pertinent.
- All submissions must be in English to qualify for prizes. Non-English submissions will still be acknowledged with a completion badge.
- AI assistance is permissible for light support; however, the writing must remain wholly original.
Prizes
- A minimum of one winner will be selected for each prompt. Winners will be awarded a 6-month DEV++ membership, a curated gift from the DEV shop, and an exclusive Winner Badge.
- All valid submissions will receive a Completion Badge.
