Repost - JUST DO IT! (Bug Huntr: Episode 6)

I learned a valuable but ultimately not costly lesson today in the importance of content self-hosting.

About 5 years ago, I appeared as a guest on a security podcast. It was a fun time, and a good experience. The company hosting the podcast has since been acquired, the original team disbanded, and it appears the acquiring company did not migrate the old blog over to the new domain. I feared that the artifact from my fun little foray into the podcast world was gone...

After first doing some Google dorking, then analyzing source code of Wayback Machine snapshot pages, I managed to recover the URL for the episode! Don't worry, I actually have downloaded copies stored elsewhere now, which I will eventually link to from here instead of the URL I found during my search.

Here it is, in its original glory for you to enjoy. Here is the archive page of the original blog post just for fun.

What is your favorite way to self-host your own content in order to retain control and ownership of it, should a given host stop hosting it?
