Product Preview Card Project

This project began as a challenge from Frontend Mentor, aimed at creating a responsive product preview card using HTML and CSS. The initial task was to design a visually appealing and functional product card that would adapt seamlessly to various screen sizes. This involved using CSS media queries to ensure that the layout remained consistent and user-friendly across different devices. The product card included essential elements such as a product image, label, title, description, and price, all styled to create an engaging user experience.

Upon completing the initial challenge, I decided to enhance the project by adding custom features that would make it more interactive and functional. To achieve this, I incorporated JavaScript to introduce a cart functionality. This new feature allowed users to add products to a cart by clicking an "Add to Cart" button. Each click would update the cart quantity displayed on the page, providing immediate feedback to the user. This required creating functions to manage the cart quantity, including displaying the current quantity, updating it when items were added, and resetting it when necessary.

To store the cart quantity, I utilized the browser's local storage. This approach ensured that the cart quantity persisted even if the user refreshed the page or closed and reopened the browser. The JavaScript code included functions such as displayCartQuantity(), which displayed the current cart quantity, updateCart(), which incremented the cart quantity and updated the display, and clearCart(), which reset the cart quantity to zero and updated the display accordingly.

The project structure was organized to separate concerns and maintain clarity. The HTML file structured the product preview card and included buttons for the cart functionality. The CSS files, style.css and medias.css, handled the styling and responsive design aspects, respectively. The JavaScript file, script.js, contained the logic for managing the cart quantity.

Overall, this project not only met the initial challenge requirements but also demonstrated the ability to extend a basic design with additional interactive features. By incorporating JavaScript and local storage, I was able to create a more dynamic and user-friendly web application. This project showcases the importance of combining HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build responsive and interactive web pages that enhance the user experience.
