From Doubt to Done: How I wrote my first blogpost

Writing my first blog post was a bit challenging, and infact this is actually my first blogpost😜 as a beginner in writing and in tech industry generally, i found it a bit challenging to write my first blogpost as I couldn’t find a particular niche topic to write on and was confused, but I soon was able to overcome this with the advice of my mentor who advised to keep it simple and authentic. This piece of advice helped a lot as I realized writing isn’t as tedious as I assumed it to be. If you’re also finding it a bit difficult to write like i was, here are a few challenges I faced and how I was able to overcome them.

1. Lack of self confidence

At first I doubted myself if I could really do it as I’ve never written a blogpost or article before, but all it requires is the willingness to give it a try. I was able to overcome this eventually when I saw my peers and fellow newbie developers do it too.

2. No specific niche topic

This posed as major issue for me being a beginner writer, I couldn’t identify a topic or issue to address and write on. However, I was able to overcome this to by being authentic, by addressing the problems that are peculiar to me in my bid to start out as a technical writer. It could be advisable to do same too if you’re also just starting out on this journey.

Those are the two major issues I experienced in writing my first blogpost, as at the point of writing this post, I still feel a little anxious thinking; “what if this is not authentic enough“, anyways I’m letting the readers be the judge of that, I hope this helps a beginner writer out there too. More posts to come on my journey as I keep sharpening my writing skills.
