I’m not much of a writer—I honestly can’t remember the last time I felt the urge to sit down and piece together a few coherent sentences, let alone about something as personal (and nerdy) as software. Yikes!
But let’s be real: there’s something magical about contributing to open source. That rush you get after crafting a library, tool, or tiny slice of software genius—it’s pure empowerment. Sure, others might benefit from it, but let’s not kid ourselves: the biggest win is scratching your own itch. The rest? Just happy collateral damage. And hey, we all get to nudge the ecosystem forward together. Win-win, right? 😄
For me, that moment happened just a few hours ago when I shipped my very first library: clsx for Rust.
Like every great open-source tale, it started with an itch—a problem I needed to solve. And instead of just scratching it, I decided to build something others could use too.
Exciting times ahead! 🚀
