During my tenure as an AI painting engineer at Microsoft, I deeply felt the delicate balance between technological innovation and artistic creation, as well as the extreme pursuit of hardware performance behind it. Especially when exploring high-definition image rendering, complex model construction and the optimization of deep learning algorithms, as the computing core, the performance of the GPU is directly related to the creation efficiency and the quality of the works. However, as the project scale continued to expand, the problem of insufficient GPU performance that I faced became increasingly prominent. It took too long to render high-resolution images, the training efficiency of deep learning models was low, and even in some complex scenarios, GPU resources almost became a bottleneck restricting the progress of the project.
Just when I was at a loss, by chance, I came across Burncloud (https://www.burncloud.com/835.html), a platform that provides high-performance GPU rental services. After thoroughly studying the specifications of several GPUs on the platform, I was deeply attracted by the NVIDIA RTX 4090. This GPU not only has an impressive hardware configuration - 24GB GDDR6X video memory, which is crucial for handling large datasets, as many as 10,496 CUDA cores, providing unprecedented parallel computing capabilities, and an astonishing 35.88 TFLOPS single-precision floating-point performance, but also has an outstanding performance in AI acceleration technologies. For example, the addition of Tensor Cores has significantly improved the speed of deep learning operations.
Applying the RTX 4090 to my AI painting project had an immediate effect. When processing 4K or even higher-resolution images, the rendering time was reduced by nearly 50% compared to the GPU I used before, which meant that I could iterate designs at a faster speed and improve work efficiency. In terms of deep learning model training, with its powerful computing capabilities, the RTX 4090 shortened the training cycle by about 30%. For me, who needed to repeatedly adjust model parameters to obtain the best results, this was undoubtedly great news. Besides, the rental service provided by the Burncloud platform is affordable. I chose the one that costs only about $0.3 per hour, which is much lower than the cost of purchasing a GPU with the same performance. I believe that it will also bring an efficient and convenient working experience to more AI painting workers.
