There is no real viable alternative to LinkedIn currently. You can accumulate current and past coworker email addresses and communicate occasionally. You can create a cv for your website.
Many people are on Mastodon now. I am proposing the following:
If you are creating a job posting, offer to use a Mastodon profile instead of a LinkedIn profile
If you are a job seeker, connect with your coworkers over Mastodon instead of LinkedIn. Link to your resume from Mastodon and delete your LinkedIn profile
This is a way to take back our privacy and stop feeding our data to Microsoft for harvesting and targeting.
