WhiteBIT, a crypto exchange, has played a crucial role in resolving FC Barcelona's financial issues, allowing the club to sign Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig. Since August 9, Barcelona faced hurdles in registering Olmo due to the club’s debt, which prevented La Liga from approving the transfer.
To address the financial shortfall, WhiteBIT has pledged €20 million of the debt, alongside contributions from Aramark, covering half of the outstanding amount. This support will enable Olmo to make his debut against Rayo Vallecano on August 27.
WhiteBIT has been an exclusive cryptocurrency partner of FC Barcelona since December 2022. This collaboration highlights the growing influence of cryptocurrency in sports, demonstrating how the industry can impact and support major sporting events and teams.
