I create applications as a hobby and want them to be accesible online.
Now I'm at a point where I want to self-host my applications. Any tips will be helpful! E.g., approach to strengthen security, server specs, tools, etc.
Thank you so much!

If you want to self-hosting for learning purposes it's ok, there are software that may help at the beginning like web panels (C Panel, Plesk...) That you can install in your own server.
If you just want to focus on learning web dev without the infrastructure part, there are plenty of hosting services that take care of the entire system and that are cheap, specially shared hostings.
Or maybe you are referring to rent a VPS?
Yes, self-hosting for learning purposes. Thanks for your suggestion 👌
Then a linux server with vhosts would be a nice starting point. You can then improve your security or other features at thr top of that :)
