There are so many brilliant content creators and software developers there sharing clips of their skills, inner monologues, humor, and beyond. Who knew that so much could be communicated and captured in just a few seconds? 🤯

I mainly post my Instagram reels there, they seem to go down much better on IG (two of my reels are on nearly 200K views on IG and only a few thousand on TT) but it's fun either way

Mainly dev career stuff, getting your first job, getting to senior dev, that kind of thing

I genuinely never realised anyone used tiktok for anything apart from miming along to songs I don't like. It never even occurred to me that people might use it for tech. I know someone made a bunch of instagram "post-its" with tips on them, which was cool.

Tbh I used it for two weeks and uninstalled it not long after. People have said you have to 'give it a chance' to get to know you but all I saw was high tier cringe and lowest common denominator content. I much prefer twitter and this site for dev content. I think the short snappy nature of TikTok just promotes less in depth content. I also have worries about how data is mined on that app. I mean I know they're all at it but TikTok does seem to give a deeper level of access to your phone from what I have read.

Tldr - not my thing, don't get the appeal, worried about how the app mines data.
