What unpopular tech or practice are you clinging to?

The world has moved on, but not you. They can pry it from your cold, stubborn hands. What is it?

The important question is; "What crazy new and modern tech do you cling on to to avoid leaving 'the middle of the road' simply because 'everybody else are doing it' that are counter productive for you and your employer", simply because you're forced into the "CV based software development process" where building your CV is more important than delivering working software for your employer ... :/

I haven't yet jumped on the typescript bandwagon, if that is what you're asking! 😸

Hehehehe :D

TypeScript is actually (kind of) cool I must confess. I was more like referring to hyped tools and such - But I do see your point ^_^

For me, it's the Seamonkey Internet Application Suite. Mozilla removed Movemail support from Thunderbird last year, which means I can no longer use Thunderbird to read emails from my /var/spool/mail/$USER file. Thankfully, Seamonkey still supports it. Maybe it's just me, but I don't know of another way to locally test the email templates that my Node apps are sending out. It definitely feels like using something from the late nineties, but it works!

Perl. Deeply unpopular but quietly runs so much of the world. I make my living from it.
