During this year’s AWE USA in Santa Clara, echo3D has announced the release of some exciting new features to its cloud platform for 3D asset management. Dubbed the “ULTIMATE 3D Compression,” echo3D’s new compression tool allows developers to greatly compress compress 3D files for low latency 3D data streaming, without compromising how they look or losing important details. In most cases, the new echo3D ULTIMATE compression tool can outperform compression by Draco, a prominent 3D graphics compression open-source library.
echo3D’s 3D asset management platform provides developers with tools and cloud infrastructure to remotely manage, deploy, and update 3D apps, games, and content. It offers a 3D-first content management system (CMS) and delivery network (CDN), asset compression and conversion tools, and a scalable BaaS infrastructure that enable developers to build a 3D app backend in minutes, and then manage, process & stream 3D content to their 3D app or game in real-time & across devices. Through its partnership with Qualcomm who previously invested in the company, echo3D also recently launched a new Snapdragon Spaces AR SDK integration.
With this new compression tool, developers are able to build cloud-connected 3D experiences and stream highly detailed optimized 3D models and interactive content to different devices and headsets, without compromising quality. The new echo3D ULTIMATE compression tool allows developers to build smaller apps and stream light, compressed, and poly-reduced versions of their 3D assets with improved texturing to multiple devices in different locations (even to users with slow Internet connectivity!), while maintaining the full details of their 3D experience.
“By processing 3D content in the cloud, developers are able to remotely stream fresh, yet optimized, 3D content to their apps in real time,” said Alon Grinshpoon, CEO of echo3D. “We are excited to empower our developer community with tools to process even the most complex 3D models and build lighter and fast games and apps that get users coming back for more.”
