cybersecurity breach wipes out more than $2 billion in market cap

Okta, a cloud identity management company, has recently suffered a security breach. According to Okta's Chief Security Officer, David Bradbury, the hackers were able to view content uploaded by some Okta customers related to recent support cases. These files, known as HTTP archive (HAR) files, help support personnel replicate customer browser activity for troubleshooting. The incident affected a "very small number" of customers. Okta has taken measures to protect its customers, including the revocation of embedded session tokens. It is important to note that user data or passwords were not hacked. However, the breach has wiped out more than $2 billion in market cap for Okta. Please note that this information is current as of October 23, 2023, and may be subject to change.
