affordable coding training centers for students and beginners in the Philippines

The software industry is becoming more known and acknowledged these times, and the demand for programmers is getting higher. Some even change their careers from a not related job to being a developer by applying to bootcamps or just by being self-taught. And for some students, like me, programming lessons in college curriculum is not enough to grow as a developer. So, we look for other ways to learn. Sure, there may be a lot of online courses to enroll to, but believe me learning from mentors who actually do what they teach, learning with fellow individual with the same interests and having a direct interaction with them is better. That’s why I made a list of the coding training centers here in the Philippines

Why you should attend trainings?

  • The languages, tools and frameworks they teach is updated unlike in school curriculum

  • You will learn technologies you won’t learn from school (e.g., using git)

  • The mentor works in the industry, so they teach what they do or their experiences unlike in school wherein most instructor teach from lesson plans and what they generally know in programming
Trainings will prove that you have the initiative in learning and improving your skills. So, it would be good for your resume.

  • You don’t just learn but you get to network and make connections. It may be your instructors or fellow students. Those connections will possibly help you in the future.

Here are the coding training centers in the Philippines:

Most of these coding training centers are the ones I have tried or where I graduated. Believe me, I have learned a lot from those trainings, from strengthening my programming foundations and learning advance topics, and helping me have an advantage when applying for internships.

Ground Gurus

Ground Gurus, for me is the most affordable one among the other ones in this list. And the instructors really explain the topics well and make sure the learners understand the lesson.

Their trainings usually cost P500 for students and P1000+ for professionals. The training lasts for four days, or two weeks and the usual schedule is every weekends. They even choose the best output from the students and I was luckily chosen, and received another free training from them.

Uplift Code Camp

They also offer great short trainings and web development program for various programming languages and frameworks. I haven’t tried registering to them, but I am sure they teach with quality.

Swiss IT Academy

They not only have coding trainings, but they also offer Microsoft Office and Digital Imaging trainings. What made Swiss IT Academy different is they not only offer online tracings, but they also give access students to their e-LMS which has great contents.

Bayan Academy

I was able to graduate at Bayan Academy because of their free 8-day training, and was lucky to be one of the accepted students. They offer paid and free different sort of trainings especially about entrepreneurship. I know I needed to include them because the instructors were really great.

UP System Information Technology Foundation, Inc.

I included this knowing that it’s organized by a university because I think they give quality education. It’s UP, guys. Their short courses are quite affordable compared to other bootcamps.
