What advice would you give your Junior self?

what were you struggling with in your first role(s) as a junior dev? How did you overcome it? What would you do differently?

I will start:

  1. Be humble: it's ok to get shitty tasks in the beginning. Do them all and don't complain about it. You will get better tasks and more responsibility with time.
  2. Be patient: getting better takes time. Learn something small every day or every week. Focus on one thing at a time so you don't get overwhelmed.
  3. Get very good at reading and understanding other peoples code
  4. Do tiny proof of concepts frequently of things you are trying to understand and use them to learn in public.
  5. Go to meetups. Network. You will learn so much just by talking to others and looking over their shoulders.
  6. You don't have to know everything. It's ok if you didn't use all the new technologies out there
