This study looks at changes in symptoms of psychological distress and impaired functioning among patients supported through such programmes. Material and Methods Between January and December 2019, 5,527 victims of violence received mental health and psychosocial support in 29 health facilities in Burundi, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali, Nigeria and South Sudan. Symptoms of psychological distress (IES-R or DASS21) and daily functioning (ICRC scale) were assessed before and after the intervention. Logistical regression models were used to measure associations between these symptoms and the other variables. Results Factors associated with high distress prior to receiving support included age (peaking at 45-54 years), intervening within three months, rape, caretaker neglect, internal e overlooked, and financial losses must be addressed in order to holistically meet the needs of victims of violence.COVID-19 has overwhelmed healthcare systems across the globe with an unprecedented surge in the demand for hospitalizations. During the early phase, little was known about public knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) relating to coronavirus disease. This study was designed to determine KAP of Iranians toward COVID-19. Methods A cross-sectional online survey was carried out in Iran from February 25 to April 25 using a self-administered questionnaire on 1,480 people. COVID-19-related KAP questions were adapted from other internationally validated questionnaires specific for infectious diseases. Results All participants were aware of COVID-19. Most of our sample population knew that staying at home and isolated (95.3%) as well as constant handwashing and using disinfectants (92.5%) could prevent COVID-19. Digital interventions like serious games are great opportunities to overcome challenges in low-and-middle-income countries that limit access to health information, such as social barriers like low-literacy and gender. MANTRA Increasing maternal and child health resilience before, during and after disasters using mobile technology in Nepal takes on these challenges with a novel digital health intervention; a serious mobile game aimed at vulnerable low-literacy female audiences in rural Nepal. The serious game teaches 28 learning objectives of danger signs in geohazards, maternal, and neonatal health to improve knowledge and self-assessment of common conditions and risks to inform healthcare-seeking behavior. Here, we explore the role of facial expressions in communication and we highlight how the face mask can hinder interpersonal connection.
