CHAPTER ONE
This writer has no name; therefore, this script has no title. But follow me closely, for I am about to take you on a journey—through turbulence, hardship, and into greatness. I have a dream, and through sheer will and vision, I intend to bring that dream to life. It is a vision that will stop you in your tracks, jaw-dropping in its audacity.
In an industry where a techie might be lucky just to climb a few rungs of the ladder, I’m about to tell you how I found myself exactly where I "shouldn't" be. “Shouldn’t be?” you may be thinking to yourself. Let me take you back.
Elon Musk is on my right, Mark Zuckerberg on my left—a meeting of the top leaders who hold the keys to the future. But I need to remind you, my career only began a few years ago. I came from humble beginnings, so how did I find myself here, in a place I never imagined possible?
"Where else would I be?" I would answer. Because I always knew.
If tech were a beautiful goal-driven-woman, stunning, with long, slender legs, piercing blue eyes, and a soft, inviting voice—then I, a young man, would be hopelessly enamored, completely seduced by her presence. And like any man taken by such a queen, I’d do everything in my power to win her attention. I would try my best to present the best version of myself, for who knows? I might just be the lucky one—or even luckier, she might just be the one who has found something invaluable in me.
But in case you haven’t noticed yet, allow me to reintroduce myself: I may not have a name, but I do have blueish eyes that match the color of the sky, a deep, warm voice, and the passion to rise above the rest. I come from a place of culture, of discipline, and of unwavering reliability.
I can see it already, if you were Miss T (she introduced herself when I first approached her), you’d be captivated by me too. Who wouldn’t be? (chuckles) As a man who knows exactly what he wants, I wasted no time in asking her out to dinner—perhaps because her soft smile and gentle demeanor had already swept me off my feet.
Dinner came, and let me dial back the excitement. The preparation for the evening was not something I took lightly. I normally don't like to impress, but this time, it was my mission. Something told me she was expecting more than just a casual night out. And I’m certain she had the same thoughts. After all, look at me!
I found myself in the mall, picking out a new shirt in a color that would turn heads, grabbing a fresh bottle of cologne. Did I mention I got a clean haircut? When I looked in the mirror, I knew I was ready. I had made a reservation at a classy restaurant, ensuring privacy, so all I had to do was gaze into her eyes and be lost in her.
The day arrived, and as a gentleman, I picked Miss T up. Wow. When I saw her, I couldn’t help but pause. Her smile, those-dimples, drove me wild. And I have a thing for dimples, by the way. She acknowledged my presence with a warmth that made my heart race. "You might be late," she said with a soft laugh. “Run late?” I replied with a soft chuckle, “What else could I possibly be timely for?”
Butterflies were flitting around my stomach as we made our way to the restaurant. As we dined, something struck me, Miss T wasn’t just any woman. She wasn’t lost. Her words came from a place of abundance; she had her life together. It was impressive, yes, but it also made me nervous. She knew what she wanted, and she wasn’t looking for anything casual. She needed a real man, someone who would build with her. I wasn’t sure if I was quite ready for that responsibility.
First lesson learned: Always show up with the right mindset, no matter the situation.
This lesson didn’t just apply to my personal life. It extended to my career as well. In my early days as a techie, I came with all the passion, burning the midnight oil, taking on the tough projects—but I had a lack of experience that haunted me. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t cheat time.
But then, sitting across from Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, discussing the next big thing we’d all birth together, I realized: I had made it. From an inexperienced newbie to a part of something world-changing.
In that moment, I understood that the road to success wasn’t just about showing up—it was about showing up with purpose, with a plan, with the clarity of vision and the patience to let time shape you.
As I sat across from Miss T, looking into her eyes, I knew she would hang on every word I spoke. So I asked myself, “What do you really want?” It was the same question I had asked myself years ago in my career. I wanted a woman with strength, independence, and a sense of direction. Someone dependable, someone who knew who they were.
In Miss T, I found that woman. She was everything I had hoped for, a human embodiment of my desires. Right there at the dinner table, I made a decision—I would be the man who would win her heart and take her home.
In mere milliseconds, my thoughts evolved from just admiring her beauty to imagining a life together, building something real, something lasting. The words that came out of my mouth were not just admiration—they were a promise. “Home we went.”
Five years later, we still share dinners—not just as admirers, but as best friends, partners, parents, husband and wife.
So, where else would I be? After all the tough decisions, the sacrifices, the late nights, the burnt candles, the healthy relationships, and the networks I’ve built, this is exactly where I’m meant to be. Sitting among the most powerful people in the world, making an impact, while also calling the shots.
When I took Miss T home the other night, I took tech home too. Because tech, like love, is built on trust, consistency, and resilience. And in the end, I became not only a software engineer but someone who helped shape the future.
I always imagined this moment, and now, as I share my story, I realize: I made it.
