ate vocational education students. The Youth Health Care professionals who provided the consultation as part of the MASS intervention considered the intervention to be useful and stated that the consultation was delivered as intended in almost all cases. Students were generally satisfied with the intervention. We recommend that future research evaluates the MASS intervention in a large randomized controlled trial with a longer follow-up.

Choroidal metastases are the most common eye metastatic site. The prevalence of choroidal metastases in NSCLC patients has been reported to vary from 0.2 to 7% in historical series. Although previously reported, little is known about choroidal metastasis in Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR)-mutant Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This study sought to describe the prevalence of choroidal metastases among patients with EGFR-mutated NSCLC and their characteristics, and to estimate their impact on prognosis.
We conducted a single-center retrospective study including all consecutive metastatic EGFR-mutant NSCLC patients, from Sept. 2015 to Oct. 2018. The EGFR-mutant NSCLC patients were identified via the Department of Genetics' files. Patients who exhibited choroidal metastases were compared to patients without choroidal metastases. Kaplan-Meier analysis and log-rank test were conducted to assess median overall survival (OS) from diagnosis for the two groups. The study was approved by the IRB as CEPROoroidal metastases confer a worse prognosis remains unclear owing to the third-generation EGFR TKI osimertinib first-line registration.
Choroidal metastases in NSCLC EGFR-mutant patients are rare but should be systematically suspected in case of visual disturbance. TKIs are efficient for treating visual symptoms. Whether choroidal metastases confer a worse prognosis remains unclear owing to the third-generation EGFR TKI osimertinib first-line registration.
Simulation-based training in neonatal resuscitation is more effective when reinforced by both practice and continuous improvement processes. We aim to evaluate the effectiveness of a quality improvement program combined with an innovative provider feedback device on neonatal resuscitation practice and outcomes in a public referral hospital of Nepal.
A pre- and post-intervention study will be implemented in Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, a hospital with 8610 deliveries per year. The intervention package will include simulation-based training (Helping Babies Breathe) enhanced with a real-time feedback system (the NeoBeat newborn heart rate meter with the NeoNatalie Live manikin and upright newborn bag-mask with PEEP) accompanied by a quality improvement process. An independent research team will collect perinatal data and conduct stakeholder interviews.
This study will provide further information on the efficiency of neonatal resuscitation training and implementation in the context of new technologies and quality improvement processes.

Squeaking of ceramic-on-ceramic total hip arthroplasty is an unexpected complication which occurs in 1- 30% of patients. Revision surgery is required in 0.2% of the cases, when a ceramic fracture is suspected, or in case of severe malposition of the implants, subluxation, or impingement. Hip arthroscopy may be a useful diagnostic and therapeutic option in squeaking hips.
A patient presenting with a pain-free squeaking underwent hip arthroscopy to examine the sliding surfaces and the rim of the acetabulum, and to search for signs of impingement. Thorough lavage and debridement of hip synovitis and fibrous tissue was performed. The squeaking noise immediately disappeared after the surgery. The patient was allowed to fully weight bear as tolerated with 2 crutches for 2weeks. Two years after the arthroscopy, the patient remained symptom-free.
The potential reasons for hip squeaking in our patient are discussed. Hip arthroscopy may prove useful as a diagnostic and therapeutic option for some patients presenting with a squeaking ceramic-on ceramic hip replacement.

It is often difficult to diagnose inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)-associated neoplasia endoscopically due to background inflammation. In addition, due to the absence of sensitive tumor biomarkers, countermeasures against IBD-associated neoplasia are crucial. The purpose of this study is to develop a new diagnostic method through the application of liquid biopsy.
Ten patients with IBD-associated cancers and high-grade dysplasia (HGD) with preserved tumor tissue and blood were included. Tumor and non-tumor tissues were analyzed for 48 cancer-related genes using next-generation sequencing. Simultaneously, circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) was analyzed for mutations in the target genes using digital PCR.
Out of 10 patients, seven had IBD-related cancer and three had IBD-related HGD. Two patients had carcinoma in situ; moreover, three had stageII and two had stage III. To avoid false positives, the mutation rate cutoff was set at 5% based on the control results; seven of 10 (70%) tumor tissue samples were mutation-positive. Mutation frequencies for each gene were as follows TP53 (20.9%; R136H), TP53 (25.0%; C110W), TP53 (8.5%; H140Q), TP53 (31.1%; R150W), TP53 (12.8%; R141H), KRAS (40.0%; G12V), and PIK3CA (34.1%; R 88Q). The same mutations were detected in the blood of these seven patients. However, no mutations were detected in the blood of the remaining three patients with no tumor tissue mutations. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/incb28060.html The concordance rate between tumor tissue DNA and blood ctDNA was 100%.
Blood liquid biopsy has the potential to be a new method for non-invasive diagnosis of IBD-associated neoplasia.
