I got a new job! π I gave notice at my current job and will be moving to Amsterdam in a couple of months π€ to start my new role as a Senior Frontend Engineer π
Wow! That's awesome! Congratulations on the new role and the move. I would love to live in the Netherlands.
Thanks! I'm so excited!!
Congrats hope this lockdown ends soon, I had some opportunity to move to Belgium but stuck for now.
Thank you and congrats to you too! Yeah Iβm hoping I can get over in the summer if things calm down! I hope you can get to Belgium soon too!

Congrats! That is so exciting.
That's amazing! Really happy for you! Keep on CODING!
Congratulations Sarah. Keep us posted on everything π
I published and sold 17 copies of my first-ever book, "Using Gatsby and Netlify CMS"! I didn't know what to expect as I have never written a book before, but it was a lot of fun!

That's really cool! Congrats!
Nice!
π wooo! That has to be an awesome feeling to sell something that you created like that!
Congrats!
Thank you!
Not me per se but shout out to @molly_struve , @atsmith813 and all the contributors who helped us migrate off a proprietary search platform to an open source one. We finally finished the project this week. π

Found time:
I had 200 concurrent visitors on my blog!
And got lots of lovely comments from all over the internet from inspired learners π₯°
Released my post on what I do about perfectionism as a content creator, which was my biggest obstacle blogging (it used to take me sometimes a month to finish a post)!
dev.to/andyhaskell/perfectionism-a...
Omg, this is awesome. I actually have a similar post about how perfectionism harms your relationships and mental health (based on my experience). My other blog is down right now, though, so I cannot share it π
Somebody once told me, "Perfection can be the enemy of the good." They told me that in light of the fact that I had virtually nothing to show for all my high school art classes simply because I smashed up anything that wasn't perfect.
I'm reading a book right now called the gift of imperfection --- there is an entire chapter on how perfectionism is not a good thing in ANY way. You are lucky someone shared that insight with you and that you heard it. :)
Amen!
This week I published my own blogππ
Check out : bytetales.co
Comments & Feedbacks are welcome!!
Looks good! Nice and clean
Thankkk youuπ€π€
very nice James!
btw, it's interesting we are using the exact same color fot the background! (see maxpou.fr)
That's strangely nicee coincidence π₯°π₯°
This week I played a bit with noise generation to create something like this for my particles library
I implemented a quad tree instead of the spatial hashing but I still don't know which algorithm has the best performance.
I fixed an annoying bug with canvas and retina/HiDPI screen, it wasnβt though but any bug fixed is a good thing!
I created other cool feature for particles, nothing difficult but itβs my first time doing these animations
Just mind-blowing. Excellent.
Posted to dev.to for the first time since last year! This video is about column families in CockroachDB. It's an interesting database concept that I think deserves more love and appreciation.

I was feeling myself burn out and get stressed out because of pandemic-related loneliness and stress, and I gave myself permission to not do anything. This goes against my typical coping mechanisms which is to do more and to always feel like I should be doing "something" with my time. There's a phenomenon that describes this called "allostatic load":

Hope everyone had a good week! This week, I added search functionality to my final React Redux / Rails project for Flatiron School. My assessment is Monday and this add will hopefully make it even more likely that I will pass. :)
Lost my job first week of April. Big win this week was to get and sign an offer on a new position starting Monday.
Congratulations!
Congratulations π
I made a submission to talk to my first big tech conference! What was the best in it: I got support and mentoring from others about selecting and framing the topic. Talk is about how we automate testing and utilize data in making decisions related to the embedded device acceptance testing at my new work. It is always interesting to hear how testing is organized, so I hope my talk makes it to the conference π
Have a better understanding of how computer RAM works with programming languages like C. How pointer in C works.
When I understand the pointer then it all makes sense about data structures like Linked List, Tree, Hashed table, Tires, etc.
I feel more confident now since I've learned how to programming through code schools. They only teach you how to code, how to put things together. They don't explain in details how things work.
P/S: I'm taking the CS50. IT'S AWESOME π
Created a BASH script which lets you answer fun tech questions directly in your terminal β
Post about it at dev.to π
The BASH script looks awesome. You can also find a way to combine it with cowsay/tuxsay and make it run every time you open a new terminal windows!
I think I had a good week π
I finished and delivered my application for the Twilio + Dev Hackathon!
I lost hope times than I can tell you, but I did it !!!
Well doneπ€Έ
Thank you!!!
Published my first post! Writing can be so hard. I'm working to get over my anxiety to polish and dive too deep. Hopefully people find this little tutorial/recipe helpful.

Adding more stateful services to an application architecture can be a big operational burden. Lean on your database to do more.
This week, I finally bought a domain with my name on it and launched π my blog, minaopada.com. I developed this using #gatsbyjs. Very cost-effective πΈ. I will post a tutorial soon. Happy weekend!
Finished my first freelance project!!! You can read about networking and open source - the article I wrote here.
Might cross-post on DEV too (οΏ£οΈΆοΏ£*))
Definitely post it here.
I became an author on Pluralsight! And got my website featured on github Education's Gallery(Nyamador.me) . Not really much but I'm happy to achieve this at age 19π.
Created ACID test scenarios with 5624 lines addition to the repository and got approved by the devs with amazing feedbacks π(**crying under the glasses, so happy).
I published a new VS Code extension that highlights focus tests in spec files. Also just created an Angular pipe that will always show the local time for a specific time zone regardless of ones local time. That was nice :)

Finally got back to doing some Exercism challenges. I tried limiting myself to just doing them on my home Linux box and ended up not doing them at all for 8 months. Now I'm back to doing them on my Windows laptop. Limiting myself to just C# and JavaScript until I finish those tracks (instead of trying to do 14 tracks at once.)
I went from idea to app submission in under 27 hours and created a free app to help during and after the pandemic:
Washem: the app that teaches kids (and adults) to wash their hands conform WHO instructions.
Check it out at washem.app (launching on Product Hunt next Tuesday!)
Hi there. I relaunched my revamped property platform. Lots of fixes needed, and It still doesn't actually do very much but that is because functionality is switched off.
Now onto the data.

Blogging again. I used to do it only 1-2 times a month but I want to force myself to write because I know a lot more than I think I do. So now I'm posting weekly instead.
Halfway through an Udemy course on React.js!
Implemented new design of our docs page within 3 days of starting, rewriting most of it to TailwindCSS while doing it (and improving mobile view while i were at it). It was already light (7.72KB gzipped CSS), but got even lighter, which im delighted to see :)

I got 4 week streak badge for consistency of writing π
My latest side project made it to the front page of HN!
Love the gif! Small win this week, was stuck on a minor issue for hours. Woke up this morning, fixed it in 2 minutes!
Nice, you solved it! :D
Sometimes to solve problems we just need a break, make other things, and come back with a more clear mind.
I wrote my first post here :)
I officially started a business!! It's called Jelly Development LLC, and I'm developing a commenting system for the JAMstack.
I also started writing posts more frequently on Dev.to, which is awesome!
I'm learning automated API testing with Postman. I will add a post soon. π
We closed our funding round!

I contribute to a global initiative called covidinnovations.org. It's a non-profit. I've been asked if I would be lead technologist. Happily accepted π€Έ.
Since, last 19 days i have been making sure to solve atleast 1 data structure and algorithms problem a day. And document about it. π
Finally understand Dart(flutter). To be honest it was a piece of cake. Now I'm trying to figure out what advance app to build with it.
I published my first side project on ProductHunt! It's a chrome extension for passive language learning π
