THE ROTATION THING PART 2

HEYYYYY Sorry for being gone for 6 days

We left off with how we are going to move this turret to do a 360. Well, if you remember from my last post, the other part of the turret I was building, I have made some few adjustments to this (image1).

Image description(image1)

Here I have made the four corners a little thicker and wider so when I do screw it down on the other base, it will hold up nicely and be stable (image2). Then you will see how I have little sawtooths on the outer of the circle; this is just for appearance. I don't want my turret to look like a Minecraft block. So that is why I started to make it more circular, also because I will be putting teeth like from a gear on the side of it.

Now onto some calculations and mathy stuff. So first, here is the motor I will be using so I can know the torque, the power, and some other stuff (image3). So I already solved that stuff, and you can check it down below (image4).

Alright, now onto how many gear teeth do we need and how wide and the length of it, and the distance from each other. These are all the things we need to know. So first, I did some research and found out for projects like this, 60 teeth is a pretty good starting point, so I went with that. The more teeth, the less stress all the teeth will experience, and it will make it smoother when turning. So good to keep in mind. So now I used all the following formulas to really see what the length of these teeth and width and by how much they are separated by (image5).

These formulas are very important when you are making gears. They are the fundamentals but with a few tweaks. So this was the finished product of my rotation base (image6). Bought some new 3D printing material and now the product is being printed as we speak. I did promise a live photo, so you will most definitely see it on the next one for sure.

Thank you for following this journey. Onto the next part, I will start making little gears and making it fit with the motor I will be using or something else.

UNTIL NEXT TIME. SEE YALL my EVO people.
