For the past couple of years I've seen an increase in the number of news articles, blog posts, social media posts, videos, etc. generated by AI, and I hate it.
The quality of AI generated content is inconsistent at best, so for people to publish news or posts that are meant to be helpful, is irresponsible. And we are being flooded by those... how many "10 best this or that" articles have you read and thought "that's rubbish"? I read one back in november that said "10 best js frameworks to learn in 2025" and in second place was Vue 2, yes 2! it has been EOL for some time now! I'm sure you have seen something similar too. And I keep seeing people here publish 10 articles like that in a day, really?
Another case is news articles, man those are especially bad! I live in Mexico, and apparently all mexican news media that has a mobile website became very very lazy. Articles often repeat the same paragraph 4 or 5 times, written slightly different but saying the exact same thing, and after an infuriating number of ads you finally reach the last paragraph which talks about what the actual title was about. And it's stupid. I remember one that was particularly terrible, the title said something along the lines of a bank (where I have an account) closing most of their locations and I thought "oh shit, that's not good", so I read. It went about saying how closing locations would affect customers... for five paragraphs! then at last the important part... "Yes, Bank will close their locations on january 1st because it is a holiday" Really? All that to say something people have known for decades?
I don't know if news media simply don't have money anymore to pay people to write quality, non-clickbait content anymore or they just became lazy, but relying on AI for content creation is spreading like a plague and I don't think it will get any better. Finding quality content worthy of your time is becoming increasingly difficult.
Anyway... rant over. What are your thoughts?
