I've started a YouTube channel called Codú Community and would love if you checked it out!
Why Codú? The name Codú is a very minor twist on the Irish for "coding" which is "códú", I thought having two accents to remember would be cruel. 😂
I'm used to teaching in person but this epidemic has pushed me to try to help online rather than in person. If you have suggestions for content I would be happy to hear it. 💜
Join in!
I'm also looking for guest speakers so please, if you aren't too camera shy and would like to pair program to solve a problem or just have a chat about your experiences in the web development world it would be great! It's a community project so I don't want it to be just me speaking. 🤓
Who am I?
I'm Niall, a web developer by trade from Dublin, Ireland, owner of a small software house in Ireland called Codú. I'm a technical reviewer for Packt publishing, a mentor in the WeWork global expert network and host of a MeetUp in Dublin called "Codú Community" where I give free software workshops every month.
I'm self-thought, have lead teams, interviewed 100+ developers and now run my own business so I hope some of my insights from my roller coaster ride of web development can be helpful to someone. 🧑🏻💻
I'll be uploading videos Tuesday and Thursday mornings ⏰
Wish me luck!!! 😁
Here's a recent video 💜

Wow. Nice visuals and topics.
Can I ask how do you promote your videos? I also just started out but struggle to get subscribers although I believe my content can be useful for the target group.
Yes, I got lucky initially because my in-person network is pretty good because I run a MeetUp and I'm very active on LinkedIn and Twitter. One of the videos blew up with over 5k views and that gave me most of my followers. That video itself was just luck because it was shared in a few places according to my Google analytics. I also share into a couple of Coding Facebook groups I'm in which helps a little. Your content looks great, I just subbed! You will overtake me in no time if you keep that quality coming 💜Add me on one of the social platforms we can help each other out if something seems to be cracking the code 😂
Thank you for reply!
I guess in the beginning it's just about creating quality stuff and making sure you keep going...Let the sky be the limit.
For sure, "quality * consistency = growth" is apparently the formula. Well it's is what I am hoping anyway 😂💜
Just subscribed, I really like the aesthetics. Good luck!
Cheers appreciated! 💜
Looks very good! Really like your videos! :)
Awesome thank you! I'm glad to hear it 😁
Subscribed. Followed on Twitter as well. Love the content. Hope you are well and hope this brings tons of productive development from your teaching.
Awesome thanks! I really do hope it's useful to some people 😁
Very nice work, liked the videos!
Thanks Adrian!
The quality of your videos is top-notch, really great work! Been watching quietly for a little while now 💜
Hopefully, I can convince you to appear in a live stream or video 😉
Hahah, I've been practising to prepare for live streaming by doing longer videos. I am still a little terrified but I think I'll startup soon!
Just chat about something you know or have a Q&A, I did my first stream last week (2 hours) and it flew by, I thought it would only be a half-hour worth of content. It's a great time to chat with your audience. Don't overthink it, it's not like video, there will be hiccups that you can't edit out live which will only show that you are human after all! 💜The fear gives up after a couple of minutes
That is great stuff.
Wish you all the best about that channel. :-)
Thank you 💜🤘
