2024 wrap up; Overcoming Challenges at 2024 Tech Events.
In 2024, I hosted a tech event that brought together innovators, experts, and students to explore the latest advancements in technology and AI. While the event was a success, we faced challenges that tested our resolve and creativity.
Some of the notable challenges we encountered included:
- Technical difficulties with our AI-powered exhibits
- Limited accessibility features for attendees with disabilities
- Last-minute cancellations by some of our keynote speakers and collaborated schools.
- Funds as the inflation affected all preplanned budgets.
Despite these challenges, we were able to find innovative solutions to overcome them. For instance:
- Our team quickly troubleshooted the technical issues and implemented backup plans to ensure a seamless experience for attendees.
- We collaborated with accessibility experts to provide accommodations for attendees with disabilities, including sign language interpreters and Braille materials.
- We even have to take the event to the people living with disabilities as we preach inclusion, I mean what is inclusion without including them in the events?
- We leveraged our network to secure last-minute replacements for our canceled speakers, ensuring that our attendees still received valuable insights and knowledge.
A Standout Moment
One experience that stood out to me was our visit to the School of the Blind, where we were able to impact over 100 students through our AI-powered exhibits on "AI EXPERIENCE ACTIVITIES" powered by Google. Witnessing the excitement and curiosity of these students as they interacted with our technology was truly inspiring.
A Personal Touch
I was also touched by a kind gesture from one of our attendees, who gifted me a pair of papered roses designed by her with a tight hug, who left my eyes mist with tears as she couldn't see but the art was beautifully designed. This small act of kindness reminded me of the power of community and connection that events like ours can foster.
As I reflect on our 2024 tech event, I am filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. Despite the challenges we faced, we were able to come together as a community to share knowledge, ideas, and inspiration. I look forward to building on this momentum in the years to come.
The lesson for 2025 is to power up and push through.
