I've been trying to clean up my bookshelf at home & my desk in my office recently and noticed I have a lot of outdated programming books - like really old ones - WebMatrix, Angular 1.x, Joomla, Rails 3...
I guess the only sensible thing to do is to recycle them? π€ what do you do with yours?

Not sure about the rest but there is a special ritual to dispose the Joomla book, I think it involves some holy water and a priest.
I usually avoid books for versioned stuff, usually gets obsolete as soon as I get the book, I think they are watching me and writing in a hurry just to mess with me.
You can make micarta with some resin (a very sturdy material with a lot of uses) or just recycle it.
LOL.
Well I know most of the programming books become obsolete rather quickly - especially the ones about languages/frameworks. But I still prefer physical books over electronic ones. Maybe I will save them for the summer BBQ gatherings...
