Exploratory testing is essential for every software to uncover unexpected issues, it allows testers to simulate real-world user behaviors, identifying usability problems, broken links, performance issues. This is to ensure a seamless user experience.

User experience plays a crucial role in determining the success of a successful platform. Let's take a walk through my exploratory testing journey on cars.ng, where I evaluated Cars.ng core user flows to identify bugs, usability issues, and potential improvements. In these findings, am delivering actionable feedback to enhance the platform’s overall functionality and seamless user experience.
Methodologies
To ensure a thorough evaluation on cars.ng, this testing was carried out on a desktop (windows 11) and a mobile(ios) using the latest version of chrome and firefox browser. The core functionalities are the main focus which includes.
- Registration and login.
- Navigation and pricing.
- Seller's contact/ messaging details.
- Footer links functionalities. The categories of the bug severity are classified as critical, high, and medium. The test report is documented in a sheet.
Findings
Several usability and functionality bugs were identified during the cause of testing:
- Unresponsive Facebook registration and login icon.
- The footer links for "Most Researched Car" redirects to an error page.
- Filtering and Pricing Failures.
- Manual price input failure.
- Sellers cannot be contacted via phone and WhatsApp.
- Financial and lease option under pricing is not responsive.
Recommendations
1.Location expansion: Cars in other locations should be included in the website to attract more buyers in different locations even though there is a nationwide delivery.
2.Model Upgrade: 2024 models should be included in the cars models and other brands too should be updated.
3.Broken links: the links in the footer section should be directed to the appropriate page.
4.Authentication: confirmation emails or codes should be sent to the subscribers mail or phone number and also phone, email or finger print verification should be enabled for login to protect data.
5.Search filter application: the search filter should display cars relevant to the searched option.
6.Log out feature: A log out from your account feature should be included on the website for data protection.
Conclusion
Exploratory testing identified the potentials of cars.ng and also pointed out actionable insights to improvement the functionality of the website and enhance a user seamless experience while on the website.
