Or KSaaS alternatively. Name it whatever you want.
I was just wondering the other day, in the era of cloud computing, machine learning and the IOT its possible to hook your kitchen appliances and develop a dashboard to control it via the cloud. You can make all sorts of crazy control engineering scenarios. It's not rocket science any more.
I'd love to hear your thoughts about this. Will your toaster really need its own Cloud dashboard?

I think IoT is a terrible direction for appliances. I'm in favour of providing networking protocols that can talk to all things, but the idea of having them on the internet directly is ludicrous.
If you want to control your kitching you should have a dedicated network with a proper gateway and control protocols. Having some foreign server controlling things directly will just become a security nightmare.
Note, I'm okay with internet protocols being used, just not being part of hte standard DNS / internet.
Home appliances have become an essential part of our daily lives. From refrigerators to washing machines, they make our lives easier and more comfortable. When it comes to high-end appliances, the Sub-Zero subzero-cove-wolf.com/ brands are some of the most popular. Their products are known for their quality, durability, and sleek design.
I kind of groan every time I hear about another company really yet another IoT device. We're pretty much moving too quickly already since we're not considering the security issues.
I think there's a point where replacing hardware with software for convenience becomes more of an inconvenience. Right now I can turn on my light with one switch. Yeah, it sounds nice to be able to turn on my lights with my phone, but I sigh when I think that someone spent time to create a dashboard that can mimic the one button switch for my light. Doesn't seem worth it to me.
It seems there are many a manufacturer that are going this route, but I can't say I'm happy about it :/
For better or worse, I think we're already going in that direction full-force. Software is learning to control everything, including your toaster and kitchen sink.
