I made $Trump and $Melania AI agents argue and deployed them both on Fleek.

Hello there! You may have seen my recent series on here that has included a lot of my AI musings, experiments, and projects on Fleek. If you are reading my article for the first time, you are very much welcome!!

In this guide, I will show and teach you how I built a Trump and Melania bot and had them shipped to Discord through Fleek. Without further ado, let's dive in!

This entire project was mostly inspired by the $TRUMP and $MELANIA tokens by the way.

Why Fleek?

Fleek offers streamlined deployment of AI agents through a one-click system. Developers can concentrate solely on defining agent personalities while the platform handles secure deployment. The system leverages Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) and remote attestation to guarantee secure, verifiable agent execution.

Fleek offers options for you to create your own AI agents from scratch! No technical skills required, just focus on making and shipping your AI agents!

Prerequisites

To follow along with this guide, you need to have three things in place:

1. A Fleek
2. Any of Anthropic or OpenAI API keys
3. Discord server you want them in

Now after all the above are in place, you need to go to the Discord developer portal and create two applications. One for Trump and the other for Melania.

After the above, ensure that you collect these two important details each from the Discord application:

• Go to the "Bot" tab in your Discord application and hit the "Reset Token" button. Copy and keep that code somewhere safe as that is your Discord API key.

• Go to the "General Information" tab and look for "Application ID". Copy and keep that as well. You will need that.

Making Trump and Melania

To make Trump and Melania, I used a framework called Eliza; a lightweight full-stack framework for building AI agents with multi-agent simulation. It has a flexible and extensible platform for developing intelligent agents to interact across multiple platforms while maintaining consistent personalities and knowledge.

Making these agents was not super straightforward, so I wanted the idea of the agents to be that they both talked a lot about their tokens and argued about whose token was the best! So, this brought me to going through the process of having to make a super detailed "Characterfile".

In my previous article, I talked about Characterfiles and how they are the backbones of an agent built using the Eliza framework. A Characterfile is a JSON that contains a lot of details about how an agent is supposed to work, react, sound, and respond. Basically it contains a lot of metadata about the agent. So, I made one for both Trump and Melania!

Trump's Characterfile

I wanted a character here that was super hyper about the $TRUMP token, talks about his partnerships with Elon Musk and can respond whenever anyone talks bad about the token or is curious about the token.

So, I went through the process of working through some Trump details as well as going through recent trendy information about them and I came up with the below:

The Characterfile above is an AI agent that mimicks Donald Trump's distinctive communication style in the crypto space, complete with aggressive capitalizations and combative rhetoric. The agent is designed to promote the $TRUMP token while frequently referencing partnerships with Elon Musk and Tesla, maintaining an antagonistic stance particularly toward a competing $MELANIA token. Its responses are programmed to be brief, forceful, and consistently emphasize market dominance using Trump's characteristic communication patterns.

You can tell that the above took a lot of work right?! Haha, yes!

The Melania AI agent employs a persona countering $TRUMP token claims through elegantly dismissive responses. The configuration emphasizes fashion, philanthropy, and luxury-tech integration while using condescending endearments like "Trump darling." Its communication style balances grace with aggressive counter-marketing, presenting $MELANIA as a refined alternative to $TRUMP's approach.

And that was it for both of them. Now refining these Characterfiles to get to where they are now was not obviously a walk-in-the-park. It took a lot of fine-tuning of parameters like style, messageExamples, adjectives, lore, and topics. Most times, it is better to work with a template agent that can use to know what parameters and data to focus on.

Setting up the agents

Setting up the agents was fairly easy, I took the Discord API token and Discord Application ID from before and added them to the two secrets variables that matched their names namely:

• "DISCORD_API_TOKEN"
• "DISCORD_APPLICATION_ID"

That was pretty much it for Discord for this step. The next step was adding the LLM key I was to be working with in there. You can check out my previous article to see how I used OpenAI there. Now the next steps after all of was deploying the agents. WE'RE ALMOST DONE!

Deploying the agents on Fleek

Deploying both agents on Fleek was honestly the easiest step of this entire process. All I had to do was save these agents in JSON files and upload them with the "Upload characterfile" option. To begin the deployment process go to fleek.xyz/eliza

Now, mind you, I could have went with the "Build from scratch" option and all I would have had to do is to do the entirety of the stuff I did in the previous sections directly on Fleek instead of managing those ugly long JSON files:

And in less than 30 seconds my agents were both LIVE!!

Now, getting these agents on my Discord server was super easy. All I had to do was go to the logs in my Fleek account to obtain the links Eliza provides to add them to my Discord server.

You then choose the Discord server you would like them to be on and add them in! Incase you don't see the link in time, use the "Refresh logs" button.

Use the same process for both Trump and Melania.

Building and deploying Trump and Melania AI agents on Fleek turned out to be quite the adventure. While crafting their unique personalities through Characterfiles was challenging, Fleek's streamlined deployment made the technical side a breeze. The result? Two AI agents that capture the essence of their real-world inspirations - from Trump's market claims to Melania's sophisticated dismissals. It's fascinating to see it all come to life, all secured by Fleek's trusted execution environment.
