This morning a colleague at work (who's not a developer) asked me what I enjoyed about being a developer (I'm a front-end / native app dev). He's messed around with code and made some simple games / applications (using Unity and other frameworks), but finds it very frustrating. His question was "What's fun about being a developer?" I didn't really have an exact answer for him, and the more I've been thinking about it, the more I'm unsure why I love doing app development! I just know I wouldn't change it for the world.
So, what do you find fun about being a developer?

It doesn't pay my bills (yet), but it's as close to wizardry as I've managed to come otherwise. You feed your computer some text you wrote that your friends don't understand and now it does something it couldn't do before!
