After over 93,000 comparable layoffs in 2022, nearly 191,000 IT professionals were let go in 2023 alone. These latest layoffs stand in stark contrast to the pandemic's era of rapid expansion, during which many IT businesses were hired at nearly all-time high rates.
It should come as no surprise that these layoffs have raised serious concerns about the future within and outside of the business. However, it's important to put these layoffs in perspective to comprehend the overall situation of the sector.
Although these layoffs are unsettling, analysts view them as a necessary adjustment for the IT sector that will make firms stronger, leaner, and more nimble. This puts them in a more advantageous position.
At the end, I have a question for the company's HR: Are they being disrespectful and mocking people?
