Chrome 102 shipped out, once more without release notes. DigitalOcean launched their serverless computing solution called DigitalOcean Functions. You can now browse the web with Vivaldi in any Renault car running the OpenR Link system. Safari Technology Preview 146 is now available for download. Wolvic, the WebXR browser developed by Ingalia, has reached version 0.9.6. And the software updates section has a number of big names this week, such as TypeScript 4.7, WordPress 6, and more.

Chrome 102 is here

Chrome 102 shipped out last week. However, the release notes are still not published yet. One thing we know for sure though is that there is a new mechanism, called Capture Handle, that can facilitate better tab sharing. We can glimpse more of the new features from the Chrome Platform page.

The DevTools updates have been available since version 102 has been in Beta. There is a new Performance Insights panel. We now have shortcuts to toggle light and dark theme emulation. There is also one experimental feature that highlights any CSS changes you do in the Styles pane and a button to copy those changes for later use.

Introducing DigitalOcean Functions

DigitalOcean is launching its own serverless computing solution. DigitalOcean Functions has support for many languages and runtimes, such as Node.js, Python, Go, and PHP.

Browser news

Vivaldi

You can now browse the web from your Renault car with Vivaldi. The browser can be installed on all their current and future cars running the OpenR Link system, such as the Megane E-Tech Electric, or the new Austral.

WebKit

Safari Technology Preview 146 is now available to all Mac users running Big Sur and Monterey 12.3 or later. This update brings a long list of fixes, which you can check in the release notes below.

Wolvic

Wolvic, the WebXR browser developed by Ingalia, has reached version 0.9.6. This update brings MultiSample AntiAliasing (MSAA), adds support for Firefox accounts in China, and zaps some of the bugs found in previous versions.
