Build Your Personal Daily Newsletter with AI

I receive a lot of news every day from all sorts of sources, and finding the time to actually process this information is more challenging than ever.

One way to stay informed is to visit websites or read newsletters. However, sometimes newsletters cover topics I'm not that interested in. I think many people face the same challenges.

For example, if you are an AI entrepreneur and want to follow the latest developments, you may not always need to know every technical detail. You could visit TechCrunch, The Verge or other news sites to pick out relevant updates. But juggling multiple newsletters or websites can be time-consuming.

So why not let AI handle this for you? Wouldn't that be cool?

In this tutorial, we're going to do just that.

By the end of it, you will have AI sifting through a bunch of messages, picking the most important ones for you, and delivering them to your inbox daily, weekly, or whatever you choose.

If you are curious, here is my latest run for my Automated Personal AI Daily news.

How it works

We will use an AI-powered search with Tavily to find the latest news on one or more topics of interest. Then we’ll have OpenAI sift through the results, summarize them, and send the summary to us by email.

The concept is very flexible, and you could use any source or workflow. In this walkthrough, we’ll use two powerful platforms: Make.com and Tavily. A free account for both platforms is all you need to implement this solution.

What Is Tavily?

Tavily is a specialized search engine created mainly for AI agents, especially large language models (LLMs) and reinforcement learning models (RAG). It aims to provide real-time, accurate, and factual search results while simplifying data gathering through trusted, aggregated, and curated information from a single API call.

I recommend checking out my latest post on the capabilities of Tavily to make the most of its powerful search features in this scenario.

What Is Make.com?

Make.com is an very popular automation platform designed to streamline workflows by connecting different applications and services. It lets users create custom integrations without deep coding knowledge, making it accessible to both technical and non-technical people.

Let’s Dive In.

The Workflow

At the end, we'll have a system that:

  1. Retrieves sources (in this example, from AI-powered internet search for “AI news”).
  2. Sends the results to OpenAI to summarize.
  3. Emails the summarized output to your inbox on a schedule of your choice (daily, weekly, or monthly).

Here’s a snapshot of the scenario in make.com.
