Raindrop is hands down one of the best bookmark managers I've used, with a sleek UI and seamless functionality. But the only ways to open Raindrop in a browser are to right-click the icon and select 'Open in Sidebar' (which is too small) or click 'Open App' (which opens in a new window), or use a keyboard shortcut.
Wouldn’t it be great if Raindrop appeared every time you opened a new tab? In this post, I’ll show you how to make Raindrop your default new tab page for quick access to your bookmarks as shown in below image.
This method works only works on Brave Browser!
Chrome users, don’t click away—I’ve got a workaround for you too since this method won't work for Chrome Browser. I will post soon and mention the link when published.
Step 1: Head over to chrome extension store and install Raindrop extension
Step 2: Sign in to your Raindrop account.
Step 3: Pin Raindrop extension.
Step 4: Right click on Raindrop icon > click on 'Open app'.
A window opens showing raindrop app. We will make this show up every time you open new tab.
Step 5: Head over to the left side of panel and click on the folder you always want to open in your new tab. In my case, I have several folders - "fav", "reading list", "my builds" etc. I want "fav" folder to show up on my new tab page so I selected "fav". You can choose any folder you want. Then click on "save".
Step 6: After clicking on save, you see a new bookmark as pointed one in below image. Right click on it and then click on "Copy link to clipboard"
Step 7: Go to Brave browser settings by clicking on hamburger icon present at top right corner and then clicking on 'Setting'
Step 8: Go to 'appearance' then enable home and then paste the link you copied at point three in below image.
Step 9: Go to 'Get started' and then set 'homepage' as your new tab page as shown below.
Step 10: Open new tab and you see raindrop shows up on your new tab 🤩🤩🤩.
