A Roadmap to Personal and Professional Growth for 2025.

This is a submission for the 2025 New Year Writing challenge: Compiling 2025.

Last year, I had goals which I managed to fulfill some of them but most of them I failed. I vowed to myself that 2025 is gonna be the year to fulfill and track all my goals. I figured that to fulfill my goals, it starts with planning first. I figured out that in 2024 I wasn't keeping track of my goals, I just set them and never took action on them. Now this year I am eager to change and set something touchable.

My Goals and Aspirations for 2025

I vowed to stay committed to continuous learning. I want to sit for the Java OCA SE8 exam this year which I failed to do last year. The reason for my failure was me not putting in as much effort as needed. I had resources but still failed to sit for the exam. So taking this exam will open new job opportunities for me in the payment Software Development industry. Obtaining certifications will strengthen my skills and improve my job prospects, advancing my professional journey.

As a developer, you do not only rely on the client's money for survival. A developer needs to grow, so in this 2025, I will finish off my side project which is an E-commerce app I started in February 2024. I have to build get feedback and rebuild until I have one side project that saves me from job-seeking. Here is the e-commerce app.

This 2025, I want to establish an online presence that will allow me to refine my writing skills while engaging with the audience. Now I am writing articles mostly on Devto but in this January, I submitted my first article on Hackernoon and it was approved which is another victory.

Also to kick off this year, I started answering questions in Java community as I want to take the OCA exam. I always celebrate my small wins

tHIS java community helps me share ideas and solve Java problems with like-minded people.

I am dead serious about embracing growth opportunities in this 2025.

Beyond upskilling, I recognised the importance of resilience and adaptability. I am starting to embrace challenges because they provide invaluable learning experience. Having this mindset will help me to enhance my problem-solving abilities in both personal and professional contexts. There is no success without struggle.

There are a lot of self-help books eg DEEP WORK, Atomic Habits, Surrounded Buy Idiots and may more. I vowed to read 5 books through out this year. Yes, they might seem to be few, but for my schedule, I felt those are the books I can manage and added them to my Goodreads account.

Not forgetting soft skills. This is one of the most important aspects a worker, a person or anyone who lives with humans should have. I should know when to react and when to keep quiet. Yes, we play and talk to our elders in a playful manner but knowing boundaries is very important. Having shame, we humans were created with a sense of shame, unlike animals. So there should be a difference between animals and humans. I promised myself to learn to say no and have self-respect.

I aim to enhance my well-being by incorporating mindfulness practices into my daily routine. I will try to balance work commitments with self-care, and I believe that having mental clarity will improve my overall productivity. Exercising is one other priority this year

Staying healthy is one of my goals this 2025. I never visited the gym but this year I vowed to exercise so that my body will stay healthy, the more a person exercises the more he or she looks young. I already started the morning jogs which is a sign of goals being tracked.

To conclude, my roadmap for 2025 is structured yet flexible, which allows me to study. do client work and keep me healthy. I promised myself to track the progression of my goals which is something I had never done before. As we embrace the new year, I firmly believe that with clarity of purpose and a willingness to learn, I can navigate the challenges ahead and achieve my aspirations.
