This is a submission for the GitHub Copilot Challenge : New Beginnings
What I Built
Meet LifeTrackr – an app designed to help people take control of their lives by organizing and tracking key areas of personal growth and accountability. LifeTrackr empowers users to create meaningful habits, assign specific tasks, and monitor progress in a way that’s visually engaging and shareable. With LifeTrackr, users can:
- Organize their lives into core domains like Mental Health, Physical Health, Finance, Work, Relationships, and more.
- Track daily habits and tasks using an intuitive activity tracker or a GitHub-style progress view.
- Generate personalized, shareable landing pages to invite friends or family as accountability buddies.
- Stay motivated with visual progress insights and domain-specific tracking.
The goal? To simplify personal growth and create a supportive ecosystem where accountability and habit tracking drive real results. By combining powerful tracking tools with social sharing, LifeTrackr helps users stay on track while fostering collaboration and support.
This app is still a work in progress, with ongoing development planned beyond this challenge. Future updates will expand its functionality, enhance user experience, and introduce even more innovative features to help users achieve their goals.
Demo
Unfortunately, I started the challenge a bit late, so I haven’t been able to prepare a live demo just yet. However, I’m actively working on building out the app further and will have a live version ready soon.

Copilot Experience
At first, I found it a bit challenging to keep my prompts short, simple, and specific while using Copilot. However, after a bit of practice, it became much more natural and even enjoyable to collaborate with Copilot.
Throughout the development process, I used Copilot for generating code snippets, autocompleting repetitive tasks, and refining my ideas. I also experimented with adjusting prompts to get more precise suggestions and found that Copilot's contextual awareness improved my workflow significantly.
I’m definitely planning to use Copilot more often in future projects—it’s a fantastic tool for speeding up development and exploring new approaches!
GitHub Models
Yes, I used GPT-4o.
Conclusion
Participating in this challenge has been an incredibly fun and rewarding experience. Although I started a bit late and couldn’t finalize everything I wanted, I’ve truly enjoyed the process of building my app and exploring new ways of working with copilot.
Due to my time zone, I now need to get some sleep, but I couldn’t end this without expressing my gratitude. A big thank you to GitHub for organizing this challenge with Dev. It’s been a pleasure to be part of it, and I’m looking forward to continuing the development of my project after the challenge!
Thank you! 😊
