My Exploratory Testing Journey on Cars.ng

Introduction

As a Product Tester, my goal isn’t just to find bugs but to enhance overall performance. I recently tested Cars.ng, an online automotive marketplace that simplifies car buying with extensive listings and a user-friendly interface. My exploratory testing focused on functionality, user experience, and areas for improvement. Here’s what I found and my recommendations.

How I Tested

I conducted exploratory testing using:

Functional Testing – Verified key features like signup, login, search filters, and contact options.

Usability Testing – Assessed navigation, responsiveness, and ease of use across devices.

Performance Testing – Checked website speed and stability.

All findings, including bugs and enhancement suggestions, were documented.
What Needs Improvement:

  • Broken Links – Some internal links lead to error pages.

  • Incorrect Error Messages : Users don’t always get clear explanations
    when issues occur.

  • Responsiveness Issues : Some elements don’t display well on iOS.

Recommendations

  • Improve error messages to provide clear explanations.

  • Implement an automated link checker to fix broken links promptly.

  • Enhance mobile responsiveness for a smoother experience.

Final Thoughts

Testing Cars.ng was insightful. The platform is strong, but with these refinements, it can offer an even better experience. With continuous improvements, Cars.ng can solidify itself as a top automotive marketplace.
