Introduce yourself. Why are you taking this course? What is it about Open Source that attracted you?
Hello my name is Piotr Drozd I'm a 4th year student in the bachelor of software development program at Seneca College. In my free time I like playing video games and building personal projects. Currently I'm in the DPS 909 course which is about Open Source development which interests me as It's something I've always wanted to get into because I like the idea of collaborative work on projects that many people will use. also I have had friends who have recommended this course to me and tell me that the projects and the work they have done in this course has helped them in their professional career.
What are you hoping to accomplish this term? What kinds of projects do you want to work on?
Personally I want to challenge myself i want to get better at collaborative coding and using GitHub. In the capstone project I worked on last year I felt their was a lot of things i was doing wrong when i was using GitHub things i would push and then break everything so i would need to revert the changes and see what i changed that caused these issues i want to improve because i know GitHub experience is invaluable to a developer. I'm not sure what projects i want to work on however i want to research already established projects and try to gain experience working on them.
What was the the GitHub trending repo you researched above? Provide a link and tell us about it. Why did you pick it?
The GitHub repo I chose was Stable Diffusion I've been hearing and seeing a lot of cool new AI projects this one takes text and creates an Image from that text. Recently AI art has even won a contest so i don't think its going away anytime soon. I think their are many possibilities for AI created things in open source and with more experience i would want to get involved in any of these types of projects.
