@Chrome 2024 shows a new little icon for SSL instead of the "lock" sign for https URLs. They say that almost all users have no clue what this icon was for and a new "tune"/"settings" sign will improve its understanding and usage. While non-SSL connections will be showed as not protected. Also iOS is going to simply remove the lock sign from their browsers. Good.
