Types of Web Component Frameworks
- Angular
- React
- StencilJS
- VueJS
Similarities Between Each
Angular, React, StencilJS, and VueJS all have similar developmental tools which set the users up with similar directories. Additionally, they all include a index.html or file which does relatively the same thing. Another function which each has is that it provides the user with testing support / ability. Lastly, each provides a DOM [virtual or browser based] which will be specified below.
Differences
As stated in the similarities, yes each has a DOM but Angular uses a browser's DOM rather than a virtual one. Another difference which relates to StencilJS is the fact that it utilizes TypeScript files. StencilJS is more of a toolchain rather than a framework since it helps a user to set things up.
Preference
Personally, I enjoy using React as it offers both the ability for testing and is also simple to use for beginners. Since this is the first time I have been exposed to boilerplates, I have found this one easiest to use. Another plus of using it is the fact that there is a team of developers who work on React so you can find more information about it.
