As a Flutter developer, I’ve always appreciated the simplicity and flexibility that Flutter’s widget-based approach offers. It’s intuitive, clean, and makes UI development straightforward. However, when I ventured into React for web development, I faced a challenge that many Flutter developers also encounter — CSS.
In Flutter, styling widgets is seamless, and the declarative nature of it feels almost like second nature. But React, with its reliance on CSS for styling, seemed like a significant hurdle for someone like me, who was used to the convenience of Flutter’s widget-based layout. CSS felt cumbersome, and I quickly found it discouraging to manage styles across different frameworks.
I realized I wasn’t alone in feeling this way. Many Flutter developers transitioning to React experience similar struggles. So, I decided to do something about it.
Introducing flutter-css@1.0.8 🎉
This package is designed to bridge the gap between Flutter and React. My goal is to make working with React components easier for Flutter developers by simplifying the styling process and making it more intuitive. The package allows you to style React components in a way that feels more familiar to Flutter developers, so you don’t have to dive deep into complex CSS.
It’s still in its early stages and hasn’t been fully tested yet, but I’m excited about its potential. With this package, I hope to make React development feel more natural for those of us coming from the Flutter world.
But I need your help! If you’re an experienced React or Flutter developer, I would love for you to check out the package, provide feedback, and contribute to improving it. Together, we can make React development a more seamless experience for Flutter developers.
Let’s make web development more like Flutter development — starting with the basics. Feel free to reach out if you’re interested in contributing or have any feedback.
