Hey y'all! I made it just in time for the tail-end of October to spin up another Music of the Month. This time around, I wanna hear y'all's favorite Halloween tunes. I'm looking for stuff that is dark, scary, creepy, or for any other reason makes ya think of Halloween. If you drop anything that is NSFW, please give a heads up... I realize horror-related music videos and tunes can get a bit brutal, so please let us know if you share anything edgy. π
How we do
In this weekly series, folks can chime in and drop links to whatever it is they've been listening to recently + browse others' suggestions. You can follow the suggested genre if you'd like, but don't feel confined to it; you're free to suggest whatever you wanna. π
If you're interested in having other discussions about music, consider following the aptly named #music discussions organization. If you wanna join the org, just hit me up and lemme know!
Alrighty, let's hear some Halloween tunes! π±
Note: you can embed a link to your song using the following syntax {% embed https://... %}
. This should work for most common platforms!
Looking forward to listening to y'all's suggestions! πΆ

Haha, this is awesome! That bass voice is incredible. It really makes me wanna try it, haha!
Hey, Michael! It's a pleasure see you around here! Also I'm missing this serie too much. As a Type O Negative fan I'm listening Black NΒΊ 1 a lot this month
Great to hear from you, ThaΓsa! These guys are awesome... pretty sure someone called them out to me them last year. What an incredible voice and I love seeing him hold the big upright bass like that, haha!
I won't be surprised if was me who cited them last year... Type O Negative has a unique music style
Haha, it was you! And actually, it was here on my call for covers:
This is one of my favourite Paranoid covers:

LOL, I'm not surprised about it! Seeing this post again makes me feel nostalgic.
Yay!! Another #musicmonday post by @michaeltharrington
I'm listening to Maggot Brain by AIR
Ooo nice! I love their album Moon Safari... and in fact, they just recently performed it again!
Japanese City Pop of 70-80s. Purchased around 10 new vinyl records this month. Favourite track is m.youtube.com/watch?v=MOOXO0ShopI
Nice! So chill and funky, I'm digging it!
I always end up listening to boy harsher around this time of year. Not really sure why!
Maybe just the industrial vibe of it and trancey keys, but I'm getting some "Blue Monday" vibes from it and that's a good thing. Cool tune!
The video can definitely be unpleasant for folks - sharing just since not everyone has spotify..
Oooo this song + music video is dark and interesting! Great Halloween pick!
Tyler, the Creator just dopped a new album and while it might be a push to call it Halloween music, it's definitely got a dark and creepy vibe to it.
Check out the tune "NOID" to get a taste of the vibe.
Liked your post and went straight to YT. They suggested this. Kind of spooky and I kind of like it? π€
Haha! YES, this one is great! Dude has such a great mind for high-concept art and an amazing eye for pairing visuals with music too. And yes, this is def creepy, haha!
I'm so glad you posted this -- I can't wait for the full album to be released!
Woohoo! Same here, Oscar. And actually, I think it's officially out now!
I just came across this video a few days ago.. and listening to this.
This one is super sweet! Thanks so much for sharing, Anmol.
I've always really loved the song "Season of the Witch" by Donavon.
Here's a fan-made music video for it using bits of the movie Dark Shadows... never seen the movie (heard it was dreadful, haha) but the visuals here are pretty darn cool.
I haven't listened to any halloween themed music, but I did find another Lauren Daigle song that I like!
Good stuff, Best! Lauren has such a strong soulful voice!
What else? π
Haha! What an awesome list here. π Glad to see punk so well represented in the Halloween music genre!
