tsParticles 1.23.0 released

tsParticles 1.23.0

I didn't wrote a post since 1.18.11 so I will include all changes since that version (including the right version with the change)

Release Notes

New Features

  • Renamed backgroundMode to fullScreen in options, non breaking since the old property is still supported. (1.19.0)
  • By default motion is reduced when css motion reduction is enabled (1.19.3)
  • Emitters and absorbers now can have a name in options (1.19.4)
  • Responsive options (1.20.0)
  • Resize keeps particles in place (1.20.0)
  • Added overlap options to collisions (1.20.0)
  • Added move speed decay option (1.21.0)
  • Added external confetti shape, closes #605 (1.21.0)
  • Added emitters spawn color (1.21.0)
  • Added animation loop count for opacity and size options (1.21.0)
  • Added noise/path generator in plugins management (1.22.0)
  • Added Vector class, this is now used in particle velocity and position

Bug Fixes

  • Emitters uses the main loop, so they pause/play with the same particles logic (1.20.1)
  • Fixed size and opacity animations (broken between 1.19.0 and 1.22.0, restored in 1.22.1)
  • Options now can accept any additional property, double check the names; it's not any, it uses the indexer.

Breaking Changes

Starting from 1.23.0 the new Vector class is used in particle speed and position, this will change how the speed works, it was a bug made in particles.js and not fixed.

The particle speed has now length and angle property so it's calculated correctly with the right values instead of the old bad values.

Old speed values will result in rectangular emitters, this new calculation method will result in circular emitters and more linear speed.

Confetti shape

I made an article some days ago about this new shape
